New Hope Ashland Prayer Letter and Update

Good Afternoon!

I’m really excited to write this too you in regards to what we have seen take place in Ashland these last 5 weeks!  We have 14 brand new baby Christians and are watching God do a miracle through New Hope!

Here are a few things that we are praying for..

1. PRAYER PARTNERS

We now have 15 committed prayer partners and we are grateful for each of them and we would like to see our partner list grow.  Prayer, we are reminded, is the backbone of all that we do. Need: We need 20 more prayer partners.

2. MINISTRY PARTNERS

As to any ministry, ministry partners are essential. A major prayer request we currently have is that potential “Staff” members would be found and come on board. Need: Worship Leader and Children’s Director

• I am meeting with a potential worship leader this week.  Please pray for God’s leading on who will be our worship leader.

3. FINANCIAL PARTNERS

Beka and I are really feeling our “unemployment” right now but we are also experiencing God’s blessings like never before.

• Our tax return (which was to help in moving us to Ashland) has not come yet and will not be available to us until July.  We were counting on that money to help us move and we just signed an agreement today for a house here in Ashland.  We are coming regardless but don’t know where the money will come from.  The house we are living in, in Pittsburgh, is selling on June 11 so we have no choice but to follow the Lord’s leading back to Ohio.  We need a month’s rent and a security deposit for a total of $1500.

• Our landlord has been great to us since we’ve lived in the house and told us not to pay for May’s rent but half of it was already in the mail.  I wish I could have gotten it back but we didn’t think he would cash it.  We at least thought that he would send it all back at the end of the month which would help us get into the house here but that is not the case.  He is working with us, but we will only get back half of what we originally thought we would have gotten back from our deposit.  We are not discouraged about this.  God has shown us time after time that he has ordered every step but we don’t have promise of anything but His goodness at this time (which is always enough!).

• We secured 3 more commitments this last week for support but are in need of many more donors to reach our goal of sleeping and eating indoors.  Please consider partnering with us at $100 a month for 12 months through Converge Mid Atlantic.  If you have any questions about how to send in a payment please don’t hesitate to ask!

We have around 30 adults at this time but they are not able to fully support my family.  I just got a job working part time at Starbucks but fully anticipate being full time at New Hope by next year.  We have raised 50% of our support as of now but are still in search of securing the other half.

4. EVANGELISTS

We are praying for people that are in essence “Men of Peace”. We want to partner with these whom God will raise up who know & love the Ashland area and are burdened for those people who are far from God.

I met with someone today who was a divine appointment.  I was walking out of the Starbucks and commented on his “Cincinnati Bengals” Jersey.  He said thanks and asked me a question about the Bengals which turned into an hour and a half long discussion.   He told me that he is the Orchestra Director for Ashland City Schools and claimed to be “open” to spiritual things.  He is coming this weekend to the service at New Hope!  I prayed for someone to share the gospel with today and God sent me one!

5. OUR FAMILY – Beka and I are expecting and yesterday found out that we are having another boy in October.  Beka is covered for anything concerning the pregnancy and the kids are covered but she and I are not covered for anything above an emergency room visit.  NEED: We are raising support to purchase insurance through Converge Mid Atlantic which is good insurance but around $1000 a month.  Please pray for our kids as well through this transition.  It’s never easy to leave friends and we are praying that they make the transition well.
